It has been noticed that Samsung and Xiaomi to the position of undisputed leaders of the Indian market. And while there is obviously chance for premium devices also, real volume sales can only be achieved if the focus remains on value-for-money devices. And we can say Xiaomi has achieved much of its success through the online channel, Samsung has a strong hold on the offline space.
Lets see its specification;
The Samsung Galaxy J8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, and features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone comes with a 6-inch 720×1440-pixel AMOLED screen and a 3,500mAh battery. You get Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, with Samsung’s standard custom UI on top. The screen is an 18:9 aspect ratio affair, which gives users a taller screen and admittedly better design.
It comes with a tall display with smaller bezels that has become common place to see. The back is made up of plastic rather than metal, which is a little disappointing considering the price and the what the competition is offering at this price. That being said, I got the unit in Black which looks pretty good from a distance. The black color gives it a subtle and sleek look to it and the back is smooth to the touch. There’s a vertical dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint sensor just below.
You get a dual camera setup on the back that includes a 16-megapixel primary lens with f/1.7 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.9 aperture. That’s some wide apertures right there, promising some good low-light shots.
When it comes to battery life, the Samsung Galaxy J8 is particularly good, and can be considered one of the phone’s USPs. The device sports a 3,500mAh battery, and comes with a 7.5W micro-USB charger.
